There’s no replacement for a hands-on demonstration of tips and techniques, but video is probably the next best thing. To that end, I’m excited to announce that I’ve launched a YouTube channel to share information that I hope you will find to be helpful and interesting.
The channel is up and running with the first video: Basic Barrel Cleaning
I’ve also added a new page to the website to help you take care of your firearms: Care & Feeding
After speaking to a number of people that were very interested in the class, it became obvious that many of you see the value in it, but just don’t have the time.
I think I have the next best thing, and I’m offering a new way to purchase custom rifles.
Please take a look at the following page, and share your thoughts: Component-supplied rifle builds
As always, your opinions and feedback are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Robert
As my business started picking up, I realized how much time it was taking me to clean gun barrels.
I have tried many products trying to find something that would save time while still being effective without being harmful to barrel steel.
About a year ago, I tried Wipe-Out Patch-Out for the first time, and I was amazed.
It was so effective at removing at removing copper that I was concerned that it might hurt barrel steel. To find out, I tested it out on several different barrel steels, and found no ill effects -not even etching.
I strongly recommend Wipe-Out Patch-Out for your cleaning needs.
There are many other excellent cleaning products available, but this is the one I use the most.
In September of 2008, Bill Zollo posted an inquiry on the Sniper’s Hide forum to gauge interest in a tactical gunsmithing class. To say the least, the response was tremendous. Since that time, we have had several well-satisfied participants, and we have decided to offer additional sessions to meet the demand. Please see www.gradousrifles.com/class.php for details.
Its common knowledge that reducing the weight of the firing pin can reduce lock time in most guns.
This can be good in a rifle that is used for offhand shooting.
However, in a bolt gun, at times this will cause ignition problems. For this reason I normally recommend std. weight pin and spring.
Surgeon Rifles is now offering an outstanding floor metal and magazine for tactical weapons. This is the by far the best in class, and would be my first recommendation for anyone considering a tactical rifle build with a detachable magazine.
