Its common knowledge that reducing the weight of the firing pin can reduce lock time in most guns.

This can be good in a rifle that is used for offhand shooting.

However,  in a bolt gun, at times this will cause ignition problems.  For this reason I normally recommend  std.  weight pin and spring.
